MONIQUE KUMAR, MD, MPHIL

Monique Kumar, MD is a board-certified fellowship trained pediatric dermatologist who joined the medical team at Florida Center for Pediatric Dermatology from Emory University in Atlanta, where she was serving on the medical faculty. An award-winning physician, she specialized in treating vascular lesions such as hemangiomas and port-wine birthmarks and as well as other skin conditions in newborns/children/adolescents. Dr. Kumar completed her medical degree, pediatric internship and dermatology residency all at the Washington University School of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident and was honored with the James Henry Yale Prize in Dermatology for outstanding work in her field. She also did a highly-specialized fellowship training in pediatric dermatology and vascular lesions, which sets her apart from many in the field. Prior to medical school, Dr. Kumar earned a Master of Science degree in genetics at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, where she was a Winston Churchill Scholar following her graduation with highest honors in industrial and systems engineering/pre-medical studies from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
