Susan Kelly, MD, most recently served as director of the Pediatric Cellular Therapy Program at the Haley Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders at Arnold Palmer Hospital. She is an award-winning physician whose work has been recognized with, among other honors, the NIH Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award, the Mortimer M. Bortin Award for Best Clinical Research, Duke University’s Betty Jarboe Award for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and multiple research grants. In addition to her service at Arnold Palmer Hospital, Dr. Kelly previously served as director of the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at the University of Florida, and as the director of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Dr. Kelly is a proud graduate of the University of Florida (UF), where she graduated with highest honors in interdisciplinary medical science before continuing on to medical school – also at UF – as well as her internship and residency training, and later earned a Master of Science in clinical investigation. Following medical school, Dr. Kelly completed dual fellowships at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina – one in pediatric hematology/oncology and another in pediatric stem cell transplant.
