Charlene LePane, DO, MSPH, FACG, FACOI, FASGE is now accepting new patients at the Central Florida Hepatology & Gastroenterology team. Dr. LePane, duel board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, began her career in medicine as a nurse. She then graduated cum laude from Auburn University followed by achieving magna cum laude while at The University of Alabama, Birmingham, where she earned a Master of Science in Public Health majoring in Epidemiology, before receiving her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

She went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where she received the prestigious Howard Cane Resident of the Year award and served as Chief Resident.

This training was followed by a fellowship in advanced gastroenterology in Detroit, MI where she was honored to again serve as a Chief Fellow. During her fellowship, she trained at St. John Oakland Hospital, the University of Chicago, Medical University of South Carolina, The University of North Carolina, and Henry Ford Health System.

She is the past President of her district of FOMA, currently sits on the board of trustees, and is actively involved on committees with several other medical societies. She won several research awards, presented research at scientific sessions, has published numerous times, has been honored to speak at multiple national conferences, and most recently has received 2 Blue Ribbon Awards for Outstanding Patient Care while serving our veterans at OVAMC.

It is by no surprise she was nominated as "Orlando's Best 2015", and awarded "Orlando's Best & Top Doctors of 2016" . She is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American College of Osteopathic Internists, and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. We are honored to have her join our team.
