Indira Abraham-Pratt, MD

Dr. “Pratt” is a licensed psychologist who specializes in the psychological aspects contributing to weight management problems in children, helping them to improve self-esteem and overall mental health. Dr. Pratt uses a culturally sensitive approach to examine the biopsychosocial factors that affect child and family functioning, helping her patients gain control of their weight and make healthy lifestyle choices. Indrani Acosta, MD

Bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Acosta is passionate about serving the broad and diverse patient group across Central Florida.  She is a member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Neurology and the American Medical Association.  Dr. Acosta completed her residency in Neurology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and was the recipient of the Outstanding Dedication & Commitment in Stroke award.

Juan F. Agudelo, MD

Dr. Agudelo’s practice is located in the medical plaza at Florida Hospital East Orlando. Dr. Agudelo is fluent in English and Spanish. He is fellowship-trained in adult reconstruction with expertise in advanced and minimally invasive procedures for hip and knee surgery and replacement, orthopaedic trauma and fracture care. Dr. Agudelo and the physicians at Orthopaedic Specialists of Central Florida are highly skilled orthopaedic surgeons with the ability to treat most orthopaedic and sports-related conditions. 

Ilan Aharoni, MD

Dr. Aharoni is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine, and fellowship trained in gastroenterology. Upon completion of his residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, he was asked to remain as chief resident of the program where he gained further experience and critical leadership skills. He then continued at Maimonides, which was an affiliate of the prestigious Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, to complete his fellowship training in gastroenterology. He currently practices and treats all conditions that fall in the spectrum of gastroenterology and hematology. Dr.

Shafiuddin Ahmed, MD

Dr. Shafiuddin Ahmed is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology and has significant experience in the management of neuro-critical stroke patients in intensive care and emergency room settings. He joins Tri-County Neurology from Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Del., where he was a neurologist on staff. Dr.

Wesam Ahmed MD, PhD, MSc

Dr. Ahmed is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, and fellowship-trained in hematology and oncology. With more than 20 years of in-depth clinical and research experience in a variety of blood-related cancers and diseases, he joins the nationally renowned medical team at the Blood & Marrow Transplant Center, after most recently serving as a faculty member and attending physician in the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Adnan Akhtar, MD

Dr. Akhtar joined Premier Hematology and Oncology in January of 2011 and has been treating patients in Central Florida since 2004. All physicians working at the facility are board certified in oncology and internal medicine and bring nearly a century of extensive clinical experience in the treatment of cancers and blood diseases.

Carlos Alana, MD

Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Alana specializes in a broad range of interests including neonatal-perinatal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Alana and the physicians at The Center for Neonatal Care provide comprehensive services and treatments for a variety of neonatal conditions. The Center was designed to treat premature and sick babies at Florida Hospital for Children.

Matthew Albert, MD

For over 30 years, the physicians and staff at the Center for Colon & Rectal Surgery have provided colon and rectal surgical services. Dr. Albert is a member of this elite team of physicians and surgeons.  Dr. Albert joined the Center for Colon & Rectal Surgery in July 2004 and is a Fellow of American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Carlos Alemany, MD

Recognized for his dedication to research and superior patient care, Dr. Alemany has also authored and co-authored several articles in peer-reviewed medical journals on the topics of breast cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma, anemia, multiple myeloma, colon cancer and novel chemotherapy agents. Dr. Alemany specializes in breast cancer and genitourinary malignances, and is fluent in both English and Spanish. He practices at The Cancer Institute of Florida, one of the largest hematology and oncology practices in Central Florida.
