Webbed Fingers Or Toes

Webbed Fingers or Toes

Syndactyly is a congenital malformation of the hand or foot in which the fingers or toes are webbed and joined together. This condition is often hereditary, and occurs when the digits have failed to separate normally during fetal development. Although this abnormality is not usually painful - except in severe cases where the nails can dig into the fingertips - surgery is often provided to make the hands or feet look and function normally. Our specialists are highly skilled in providing reconstructive and microsurgery on small hands and feet with both common and complex physical deformities. Babies with syndactyly who were born full-term can have elective surgery at as young as five months.
